Drummists, Bell ringists, cellists, funky accordion players getting nasty down on the one - chat about the bass guitar's lesser counterparts here. For guitars, have a look here for Guitarchat: http://basschat.co.uk/forum/96-guitarchat-led-by-kiwi/
But then I didn't say you should have searched, but instead said that this info should have been searchable for other people later, which it isn't as it is embedded in non-searchable status updates and comments. See? :-)
JJ's are fine. I've got them as power valves in my Marshall and Burman, plus they were in my old Matamp. There's a lot of snake oil talked of different valve brands, but JJ's have never let me down. Also pre-amp valves rarely wear down, unless you drop 'em!
Oh strange, I've found the Chromes to be on the lower side of things tension wise (subjective I know), certainly compared to the bridge wire that are Rotosound flats. I made a point of trying to match the set tension to the 50-110 round wounds I was using, worked a treat :)
