Worst Headstocks Ever

I don't think there's a headstock shape i really like except for the Ibanez Musician style (but that only works with 4 strings) or the Stingray types without that big ball of wood in the top like Fenders (i do love 4+1 configs and really hate the Fender 5-in-line style). But i just posted to remind all you folks of this one:

I'm still traumatised from the first time I saw a picture of a Lindert Loco-motive P Bass...

I think that was the Peter Frampton special he used on "Show me the Way"

Now I've got a bass from this lot myself and it's really good. But I have to say these gumby looking things on the end of the necks aren't pretty. Especially as a 5er

I always thought the headstocks were OK, but find the angled machines offputting. Banjo tuners would be good.

The Bongo headstock would definitely be on my list of worst headstocks of all time, along with Wal, Warwick, the Nanyo Bass Collection stuff & the newer G&L headstocks with that pointy bit on the bottom.

Never a good idea....

I'd have put up with it if it got a better result than this combination of goldy looking dust and epoxy resin -

In my defence. It's only for a ukulele. My mate knocks them up for a laff and I thought I'd see if I could do an inlay without the required skills. The inlay shown was done on a scrap piece that would've faced the headstock of another uke build. It looks better without frankly. The circular body is the current build. I wont be trying it again.

Alembic awfulness

Nothing wrong with those headstocks. Not the prettiest but miles ahead(!) of the tumorous fender heads.
I would agree if they were on a £200 bass. On a 5k bass, I would expect better

That first one isn't Alembic. The second one? Well it's a little uninspired possibly but it's hard to go wrong with simple symmetry. It certainly suits the body designs it goes with.

OMG, that would win an award for the body too! Ned must have been broke!
It has the look of Ned's LS type bass after ten rounds of Gibson bean counter cost-cutting. No graphite, no expensive headless design, no charm etc etc...
