Ok people; time to make this site bigger and better than it's previous incarnations!

This thread is for DIY Spare Parts – whether for your Bass Guitar, Amplifier or Cabinets.

I'll split the first post into these three sections. To give you an idea, I'm looking for suppliers of:

For Bass guitars - bodies, necks, machine heads, decals, scratchplates, screws, pick ups, bridges, on-board pre-amps, tone/volume control knobs, potentiometers etc - all the stuff that you might not find in your local guitar shop.

For amplifiers – valves, knobs, switches, rack mounts, feet, handles, sockets, wiring diagrams, cooing fans, LED's etc.

For cabinets (including self-build) – speakers, wood, covering cloth, grill material, handles, feet/wheels, corners, crossovers, plugs, sockets, acoustic foam etc.

You contribute to the thread the details - name, telephone, website, range of gear they sell etc, and I'll update the sections in the first post as an easy reference.
Hi Hamster,

Villex also make passive boosters for basses. For the purpose of your list I guess they can be classed as on-board preamps

Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the reminder - a useful bit of kit with good reviews - added.

Stewmac in the US has a huge stock of parts and equipment for making and repairing instruments.

I previously bought sheilding paint, a graphite nut and a new selector switch from them.

I recently got some emg select pickups ($24) which have a good hum free output and no preamp required, they sound great.

Any order less than $36 to the UK means no import duty which makes it really cheap if you want low cost parts.

Orders over $36 have a 17.5% duty charge when imported to the UK.
I see you've linked to Axes 'r' Us already, but it might be worth sticking this link under the decals section, as it's a "secret" page that doesn't link from the main site...

The site links to the decals page from its own site map, I'll include it though :)

Bare knuckle Pickups. ( http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk ) They dont advertise the bass pickups they make, but will hand wind to customers specification. Hopefully if they get some more support from us bassists they can make the bass pickups more prominent.

For both general electronics bits and handles/corners/edging strip etc for amps, cabs and flight cases, you cant beat 'The Electronics Shop' in Cullercoats Tyne & Wear. The shop is an aladins cave of muso bits & pieces and the website is pretty good too. Same prices on web as in shop so well worth a visit if your ever in this neck of the woods. www.theelectronicsshop.co.uk
For the scratch plate list (and other stuff I guess)
http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/home/index.php
They're already on the general parts list, I'll add them to the scratchplates as a x-ref.
