This is indeed a site for bass enthusiasts, and bass enthusiasts like nothing more than to look at and make comments about other people's basses. Especially Tim. The for sale section is an added bonus, and it's free so stop complaining!


I have 2 tips for you:

- Don't post 4 adverts for the same bass, just reply to your own topic (people often just write the word Bump!) at it will go to the top of the list. But go easy, it's bad forum etiquette to hog the top spot by excessive bumpage. And delete your extra bump posts so your thread doesn't get clogged up!

- DON'T TYPE WITH CAPS LOCK ON, THIS IS HOW YOU SHOUT AT PEOPLE ON THE INTERNETZ!!!

But yeah, trading has slowed down lately - nobody's buying my bass or pedals, I might have to hit eBay/Gumtree soon...

I've bought and sold a lot on here. In fact I haven't gigged this year without at least one item on stage from Basschat (& usually 3 or 4!). The credit crunch has slowed sales down a bit but if stuff is realistically priced and both parties are flexible stuff does change hands.

A couple of my items (some Rickenbacker TV knobs and a brass 1970s Precision pickguard) never sold but I put this down to the items being too quirky. I didn't even get any interest in terms of questions. There is always EBay if stuff doesn't sell.

All being well my next sell will be on Saturday and my next buy will be the following Tuesday. Business as usual for me :)

As I see it; the right seller, the right item, the right price with the right buyer looking = sale... simples!

If any of the above are missing from the OPers sale thread then you get no sale!

Heaven knows I'm sitting with cash burning a hole in my pocket for the right bass (MM/EB Sterling in sunburst in case you were wondering) but unfortunately a Schecter isn't going to float my boat.

Take a chill pill and stop shouting. :)

Just wanted to say that i Love Bass Chat. Its full of information and people who LOVE playing bass.

I have bought the following gear in the last year from the for sale sections -

Yamaha TRB6II
Epifani UL 410 series 1 cab
Epifani UL 502 amp
1973 Fender precision bass guitar
Korg DTR 2000 rack mount tuner


So , i know that at least 5 items have sold through this site :)

To the op. If you are going to run the site down, at least try and use the correct punctation whilst you are doing so. If you look on your keyboard, the third button up from the bottom, on the left hand side, is usually the caps lock button. Try and use it.

And you are so wrong. I have bought and sold many guitars on this site. It`s all supply and demand. If people don`t want what you have for sale, people won`t buy it. Simple as that.

If you see Tim, tell him.
