    bell emulation

We used to do "Hallowed be thy name" by Iron maiden and our drummer rigged up a little sample pad with the bell sample in it for the introduction. Can't remember the exact make and model, but I don't think it was particularly expensive.
  2. you know, jeds peds do a PCB of the Agent 00Funk and it's brilliant. https://www.jedspeds.co.uk/product-page/funkin-for-ja-morton I've made a couple and often swap between this and my Meatball clone - different flavours of funk for different jobs. If you're handy with a soldering iron it's less than a day's work and significantly cheaper than buying one (if you can find one).
  3. They played in Cliff Williams and Geezer Butlers bands respectively 😉
  4. calling @ki0g0n John makes excellent controls for passive basses and is more qualified than most to weigh in here. I'd go with a 500kΩ pot and a 47nf capacitor, but that's just my taste. depends how much of the top end you want to roll off - a smaller value capacitor (e.g.22nf) will allow more top end through when the tone control is at 0%.

  6. Yup. I'm not playing live anywhere near as much as I used to, so periodically running through setlist for bands I occasionally dep with helps me keep my piggies wriggling and also makes sure that there's less 'cramming' to do when the dep gigs come in.
  7. that and his enthusiasm for 'better living through chemistry'.
