2. Im looking to sell on my 400+ to contribute to the credit agreement on on SVT classic this is serial number B3973 which places it in the 1990s I think. The amp comes with recent service, resoldering & noise reduction mod and 16 replacement JJ valves from Dennis Marshall of Emmerson Williams (only MESA approved engineer in Scotland). The amp has been gigged 4 times since the revalve and it sounds f***ing excellent. It has an awesome 7 band graphic eq which offers superb flexible tones, it has a very crisp clear sound with lots of punchy options and heavy gain options. 1st channel is a clean effort which suits those playing with fingers better and 2nd channel is a gain channel which is very very thick and when combined with the "pull bright" switch sings/screams/sledgehammers home. I only used the 2nd channel, and still found it flexible enough to give me everything I needed I replaced the amp in August with an SVT classic, which is more suited to my style of playing and was a solution to some GAS. MESA do not make these amps anymore, and these are regarded as their best bass amp they ever made. these retail at £1400+ and thats for the newer models. Im looking for around £915 or a close offer for this amp and that include the 6u flight case too. I am open to offers, but nothing stupid please and do bear in mind that this amp is completely revalved (at a cost of £250+ to me) and is in perfect working order. I live in Dundee and you are free to give it a try if required http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Bas.../bass_400_.html more info through pm or stu_maxwell5 at hotmail.com
 3. I fully retubed my one JJ's and it sounds awesome it is for sale too, see my other posts for more info http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=mesa+400
 4.
What does the 'Noise Reduction' procedure involve, out of interest? I never had any noise with my old 400+ but just interested to know! Lovely amp matey.
Tbh I have no idea of the procedure, but i believe it has something to do with wiring/placement/flow of wiring?? (I could be wrong). But i certainly noticed a difference when I used it afterwards, no interference, no surface noise at all, whereas before I could hear a faint surface hiss. It wasnt something I asked for, but its the kind of thing that the guy does when he is in the inside of an amplifier, smart tone over a fast buck. It was actually NJW that recomended him to me, so he might be able to clairfy further...
 5.
I can vouch that this amp is awesome and that Mr. Maxwell is a most reliable, friendly and helpful young man, worthy of your trust.
awww shucks! whadda guy

 7. As it says on the title I am looking to sell my 400+ Im sure most of you lot know all about these badboys...sweet sweet sweet, played a usa jazz through it and banged it out on on the ampeg 8x10, a brilliant sounding amp This one is in MINT condition (ex shop demonstration amp), very little use over the years. I purchased this from America and had the necessary rewiring for 240v carried out by the only mesa approved specialist in Scotland; Dennis Marshall of www.emersonwilliams.co.uk I also had the amp serviced and looked throroughly through with a comb by Dennis, where he also carried out some noise reduction. The amp has been filled (two months ago) with 12 JJ 6l6s for the output section and 4 JJ ECC83S (12AX7), with a 35% increase in signal recorded after the revalve. The amp has only been gigged three times since the amp has always been inside the comfort of a 6u rack for more info please pm me or contact me at [email protected] bearing in mind that I have just spent a huge amount of money making sure this amp will run forever, I am looking for £950 (this also INCLUDES the 6u rack case) Ill actually be on tour from 24th to 2nd in England so pick up could be arranged at most parts of england or scotland so that saves another whack on postage

 9.
Hi all, I've had this vintage beast for a long while but sadly not been using it much lately. It has new valves (Watford Valves)and has been serviced and gigged recently (it still has the force!) It originally had a USA mains transformer (110V) but now has a UK (220V) one that I bought from the German company TAD. One of the 'rocker' switches has been replaced (with an original type). I had this amp completely checked over because I had decided that this was the best bass sound ever!! It is but.... I've downsized by rig and getting a new amp too....so now it needs a new home. Completely reliable, lovely tones, warm valve sound and in great condition. Make me a good offer and it could be yours........ Note: Hoping to have some photos soon but open to questions/viewing/trying etc.
any luck with the pictures? I am very Interested in this
