I've never understood peoples offence at targeted advertising (and this is in no way a slight on you GW!), to be honest, how often do you click on an ad that might be relevant to you anyway? I can count on one hand the amount of ads that I've purposely clicked on in my internet using lifetime! Pop-ups, now that's another matter entirely

[/quote] you gotta remember how long this whole shebang has been going mate, and while the admins and mods do their very best to make it look professional all it is is a few blokes spending a bit of additional time making sure something they like stays something they like. Yeah its a business and that but as you said, the community makes it what it is and 99.9% of the time mods don't even need to exist. I don't reckon most will notice the changes.

Just wanted to say a massive thanks to those of you that have helped to keep the peace in off topic (and everywhere else!) for the last, jesus, must have been 4 years or so! I really miss being able to spend as much time as I used to on here and I almost feel like a stranger amidst the more active posters these days. University, a better half and work have just got the better of me to the point where i'm ashamed to say, I don't even own a bass at this moment in time. Basschat made me thrice the musician I was (and also a third as wealthy, thanks classifieds....) purely through motivation, I've met some great people, had some mind blowing conversations as well as some downright silly ones and just generally enjoyed this place for most of my musical life. Stand strong basschatters and I'll be knocking about here and there once I have things in order. Pvt. MythSte, honerably(ish) discharged from duty.

I spend monday nights in Hannah's bar who have an excellent covers band on most weeks. I believe the bassist is on here also. I'm within spitting distance of Matthew street but only ever really go to flannigans for a pint or the Cavern if any of me mates bands are on!

I had one (now owned by mic mac moe) and found that the blade pickup was set pretty low anyway, although im almost certain you can just change the height of the entire pickup... Never a problem for me. There is a heck of a lot less string movement down near the bridge so im super surprised they managed to find that a problem.
