1. The poles in the neck PUP of my Squier Jazz Bass fell down, and when I opened it up, the glue holding it to the cover has lost its grip. I wouldn't mind trying out new PUPs, so does anyone have any recommendations for some relatively cheap (>£50) Jazz Bass style PUPs? I don't really have any particular sound in mind, and i'm open for a bit of experimentation.
2.
Genius!
There are too many shredders out there already. We don't need d!cks like this one training up a new army of shredders it wasn't even tasteful shredding (if there is such a thing)
3.
"you are teaching a new generation of w*nkers." +1
that was my comment!
4.
Ah, I wondered what those knobs on my amp were for. THANK YOU EXPERT VILLAGE!!!
i'm turning the knobs, but my amp still isn't making any noise. Maybe if I dropped it off a cliff, it'd work. I wonder if they'd encourage that...
5.
Well, what would you expect from an "Expert Village" video? Famous for their ultimate "String Stretching" exercise: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k7igz-Pmkw
i can't believe anyone would be stupid enough to do that! I've only been playing bass for 4 years now, but I know that you NEVER stress a string like that. I'm not letting that guy anywhere near my Squier, let alone my Fender.
6. that's gotta be the strangest looking guitar i've ever seen... at least it can be a long or a short guitar. I hate it how you can't make a guitar long or short with the press of a button.
7. i don't know why you'd want a cure for GAS. My GAS has only just started, and I love it!
8. sweet... How much was the S1 switching hardware? I'm interested in doing it to my Highway1 Jazz.
9. looks like it could be swaying towards a good idea... 7 votes, currently at 100% yes yeah, sounds rad. I'm probably not experienced enough to contribute, but I'll give it a shot. I'll definitely use the resource if it's available; anything that improves my playing must be a good thing.
10. Jaco, why did you chuck your basses into the bay, and why the hell did you give that bouncer lip?
11. i would keep it natural if the wood looked any good, but it's fairly rubbish, and I don't really care about tone in it; it never had much to begin with anyway. I suppose my goal isn't to make it look gorgeous in any way, but more to make it a piece of art. I won't be doing anything to it for a about 6 weeks (end-of-year exam revision ), so feel free to keep the ideas flowing. Thanks again for the input

13. There is Primus, Les Claypool and the Holy Mack, and Les Claypool's Frog Brigade, and i'm sure there are more
14. YYZ - Rush. I can't play that with a pick, let alone fingers.
15. Have a look here for some trippy looking basses. If basses had a roadworthy equivalent, very few of these would pass enjoi
