  1. Can’t you unscrew them And do the same? I’ve done that in the past with the one i had. The jacks on my Lekato seem to be just a tiny bit thinner than the Xvive. They rotate in the socket on my P bass so my options are having hanging down or rotated and stored away on the bass as in the photo above. Either is fine i guess but i would be more worried about it ganging down and then putting the bass down.
  2. Just seen this. A bit pricey at £20 but it seems like a good way of securing a bug type transmitter to a strap. Anyone got one? https://xvive.com/audio/product/h1-transmitter-holder/
  3. Just a heads up that the LEKATO WS-90 is only £47 on Amazon at the moment.
  4. I keep going back and forth between 4 and 5. I like the narrow string spacing i get with a 5, even if im not using the B string. When i go back to a 4 it feels awkward for a few minutes, but then its fine. Ive played many 5 over the years, but always seem to got back to a 4. This is probably why ive never really adjusted my playing for a 5, as i know I’ll be using a 4 again. When i started playing bass again (a couple of weeks ago) i was all in to the 5 string i have, but after walking some distance with it im now back to my Fender. At the moment it’s more because it’s a nicer, much lighter bass. The difference between 10.2lbs and 8lbs is quite noticeable when walking for 30 mins. I guess thats it for me, it’s not the number of stings, but the Bass itself. If my 5 string was lighter id maybe stick with it. Oh, and we have one song that needs a 5 string, which is the reason i was using it. Not a good enough reason though. I’ll play higher up and save myself some back pain.
  5. I dont have an issue with how they work, but im not a fan of how they look and feel. I also haven’t got used to the on/off switch yet. I can changing channels on the transmitter by mistake while fumbling around. A bit smaller should also be nice, but at this price point i cant complain.
  6. I guess I’ll just go with this solution. It’s not like i really need to use those knobs in the heat of the moment.
  7. Totally disagree. Id say quite the opposite. WE have to be happy with what we are playing and feel comfortable with it. It doesnt matter to the audience what we are using, and not having a 5 string is never going to stop the party.
  8. Well that was quick. Ive sent the Boss back. It cut out a few times at home. IIR it used to do this when i had them before but were rock solid at gigs. I’ll live with the larger LEKATO for now. Thats been rock solid at home and at rehearsals.
  9. I just found this on Boss’s website. Not sure if it’s been posted before. Seems like they downgraded the battery in the WL-20.
  10. I’ve just remembered why i kept changing mine. I did start off with the normal set, but at the time i was using a couple of TC Electronic pedals. The ones with the app that sends the changes via the instrument pup. I found the cable tone feature was attenuating the high freq and stopping this from working. So i got the full range set. Then i found that to be a bit ‘clicky’ when using a pick and a bright signal, so i ended up going back i the standard version. 1st world issues 😂
  11. After making my post above, i also realised i can’t put my bass down with the Lekato plugged in (or i have to be really careful). I dont have this issue with the Xvive as it’s smaller. So i have ordered the Boss WL-20 from Amazon. Better the devil you know etc.
  12. I may just send the Lekato back and get the Boss again. I was worried about interference but i never actually had any issues with the ones i had before. I seem to be the only member of the new band that uses wireless so i do t think i have anything to worry about at the moment.
  13. Yeah, i have considered that. I too was wary about the Boss sticking out when i had it, but i never had an issue. It felt solid sitting on the frotn of the P bass.
  14. Had a rehearsal tonight with my P bass. Not impressed with how the transmitter sits. It’s fine on my Yamaha as the jack is side mounted, but there seems no where for it to lay flat on the P bass. Not a big deal, but i wish it was a bit smaller.
  15. I don’t think it’s a good idea to store them plugged in. The battery will drain until (maybe) the auto off kicks in.
