  1. Well Newcastle ideally but I could make Leeds work. It's about time I visited my brother.. I'll pm you tomorrow.
  2. Like most people on this thread it seems, I have a weekday tuner and a Sunday Best tuner. In my bass drawer there's a Korg Pitchblack Custom (PB-CS) that is accurate to some unholy amount that gets used for intonation and setup. Everywhere else gets the tuner built in to the Shure GLXD wireless units. Because it came free with the wireless and I'll be damned if I'm carrying an extra pedal for no reason.
  3. It does allow partial scene savings actually, although I'm already terrified I'll forget something. I've only been using this desk for like 8 years....
  4. Thanks cat. The issue is that it's going to be painted in stripes to match the pride flag, so it would have to be exact and multi coloured. I might just have to keep a look out for something without a pickguard. Although to be fair I wouldn't mind the wear, if any happened.
  5. Hi all, I have a notion to refinish a bass for a specific project, however a couple of the ones I've been looking at have pickguards that can't really be removed due to visible routing. Is it possible to paint normal pickguard plastic? If not, has anyone had any successful experience making a pickguard of of something that can be painted? Wood for instance? Thanks, Jack
  6. That's a pretty cracking idea actually. However, would that mean that any tweaks that were done on the 'faders down' scene wouldn't carry across once we went back to the 'faders up'? Because the whole point is we might want to make changes to IEM mixes or something.
  7. That is sadly not the case. Can you confirm that definitely works for you? In other bands where we've used wedges that's exactly what I've always done, everything apart from the music in a mute group and then pressed that to mute everything at once. However, that also mutes those channels in the wedges.
  8. Hey guys, Quick question. I want to be able to mute most of the signals (but crucially not the set break music on channel 17/18) to the mains but the mains only. Most of the band are on IEMs and might want to widdle/tune/test a new guitar etc during a set break. However, I don't want the audience to hear this. Is putting everything apart from the backing tracks in a DCA and then using that mute the way forward here? Is there a neater way? I can't just press the 'mute LR' button as that will stop the break music. I can't seem to do it on either the channel sends or the aux taps (screenshots below)
  9. Saturday (so not quite last night, sorry) was the very first ever gig for my new project Pop Punk Prty. It was, in my estimation, a little too early to be 'out there' and we all felt very unrehearsed. However, it was better than I expected! If we play like that on our 5th gig I'll be annoyed, but for a first gig I'll take it. Rig was my trusty (and suitably pastel green) SB-2 into my HX Stomp. Everyone on IEMs apart from me (I have soundman duties) so I've got one of my QSC wedges. To complete the rig there's genuine 00's baggy jeans that were sourced by my wonderful friends at Tender Hooligan. Gosh I'm fat.
  10. Or Phil Jones bass. Super clean tone, extreme lows and to be blunt the resale value sucks so buy second hand to get a fillet mignon rig for beefburger money. Edit - There's a GSS combo/cab rig in the classifieds in London for £20 over your budget. I can't think of a better solution for you.
  11. The modded one may have actually been the one that is now mine? There aren't too many about and mine has a distinctive blank bit in the grain next to the lower horn. I have owned this bass twice (once with an extra pickup and once without) but I'm neither the person who added it or removed it. It was a better thumb rest, but I hated the look. I'm thinking about getting a thumb rest printed to go from the pickup along to the neck.
  12. Overhang, schmoverhang. Get overhang it! Some of that is the perspcetive of looking down on the rigs. ... some.
  13. Ooooooh, this is better than the old one. That's my morning gone.
  14. Honestly in terms of fit, finish and general quality it's one of the nicest basses I've had. Lovely thing. The neck is narrow/average across the width but quite deep front to back, which is exactly what I like. Honestly though the sound is a bit of a let down. The pickup is too close to the bridge (and I've got two Stingrays and a g&l with bridge humbuckers so this is normally something that I like) but I find that if you rest your thumb there it's too weedy. I'm trying to learn floating thumb but I'll probably buy a thumb rest as the sound is perfect if you pick closer to the neck. Thanks man, they're lovely up close. With steel strings, active emgs and that finish it's the ideal bass for my hard/party rock band. I don't get to play it much in the indie band...
  15. I'm fortunate enough to have a Euro and a Korea, both of which are fantastic. Whilst I've never been in a metal band I am a metalhead in my personal life. From my two I'd go for the Pulse. Sounds amazing and certainly looks the part.
