Bought a Standing for Jamiroquai on there, apparently the ticket will come a week before the event, just wanted to know how trustworthy it was, gotta book stuff sharpish!

The tickets I sold I didn't have in my possession until about 2 weeks before the event, they provided an envelope all labeled etc, I set the amount to cover my costs & fees but I know people do set prices really high. The seller doen't get paid until after the event which helps ensure a smooth transaction but obviously there is still a risk as with all live events re. booking hotels, travel etc

One of the lucky few who managed to get Metallica tickets. First time seeing them live and I seriously hope Lars doesn't ruin it.

agreed. some of his double bass playing is comically out of time too...

agreed. If you're only as good as the drummer in your band is true, what's with Metallica?? The albums of course sound tight... snip snip cut paste glue tools vibes

But even then, if you watch the album recording videos, it's amazing how they get him to sound tight. Tonally and rhythmically. And their live sound as a band is very flat. For a band as big as they are, it is baffling how they sound so bad. Cloth eared engineers and people who are scared to tell them they've sounded terrible since 2003. They're all using Axe Effects and Lars still sounds terrible.

I have been following them for some time now. The Gunhild Carling you tube channel is superb. The whole family appear to be able to make up a big band!

I've been meaning to catch one of their shows for a while and never got round to it, especially last year when they had Casey Abrams out with them.

I think it's reached the stage where we need to see pictures to help us all feel solidarity with your struggle, Les... it would be a perfect 'Off Topic' post, once you're back gigging again. A few selfies in the kebab shop would be a good start...

Would flatwounds on a 5 string active bass sound bad or 'hollow'? or is it just a myth?

Lose some top end as IMO they are less bright, but they will sound fat and thumpy. Actives are irrelevant IMO, just depends on whether you then cut or boost frequencies.

Why don't i listen to things in flac more often? I always forget how much difference it makes.
