Aaaarrrgh - silly me, it doesn't seem to work at all on the iPad at present. :)
Oh well, I'm only 1.69 out, have made far worse deals than that.
Do look forward to the iPad version though.
Playing for time.

I like that idea. It would be interesting to hear from busy bassists who play regular gigs... it would be easy to relate to and tips and stories could be interesting.

'Do's' and 'Dont's' of wedding gigs/rehersals/auditions etc... like the thread here on BC. Perhaps we could inspire a list for all the readers!

From that post above, this seems easily worth the (Quite small i would say) sum of £1.69 a month. I'll definately be subscribing come payday, as right now i don't even have £1.69 to my name.

Liam

He he, me skint too :) I will also be subscribing soon though. It cant be any worse than that Bass Player magazine, which is, what £40 a year ? can it ?

My Feedback

Bass guitars with more than 4 strings
Questioner: How come you never play a 5 or 6 stringer Billy?
Billy Sheehan: "I dont need one, I have my hipshot for lower notes, and I can go to harmonics for higher notes"
Questioner: "do you own any"?
Billy Sheehan: " yes I have two or three, though rarely use them outside an ocassional studio set piece"
"I dont like to use them unless I really have to, as when a guy takes a 5 or 6 string bass into the studio, you see the engineers and producers, sighing and shaking their heads" :) (Smiles)
Billy Sheehan: " I have nothing whatseover against 5 or 6 string basses. I just belive that guys dont give themselves a proper chance on the 4 stringer first."
Questioner: How long is 'a proper chance'?
Billy Sheehan: " At least 20 years" (not smiling here, being serious)

I think you could be onto something here. With the current trend to be away from doing originals and more cover/function bands, I think it would be good to cover this topic.

I like that idea so I put myself forward to be the first victim to share my 24 years of playing :)
Worked my arse off playing every dive bar whilst keeping down a day job to finally getting a deal. Then sueing the record company to then rediscovering bass all over again a few years later amazed at how things have moved on to now back again recording and gigging. So if anyones interested which is probably a big NO :) then I'm up for it :) I'm sure there are quite a few other interesting people here who have an interesting background.

Thanks for all the feedback! Keep it coming..

We're busy working on the next issue as we speak.. look out for exclusive video interviews with Marcus Miller, Yolanda Charles and Laurence Cottle - including behind the scenes footage with the Laurence Cottle Big Band rehearsing for the 'Portrait of Jaco' night at Ronnie Scott's.. We've also got a new columnist in the tuition section, gear reviews including AV Basses, Overwater and Vanderkley cabinets.. plus our full report from Bass Day UK.. Were you there? Did you make it into our film?

Hi Jake..

If you have already purchased an online subscription you will be able view that same publication on iPad as soon as the app is available.

Hope that helps!
