Ok , this is my contribution to this thread , I have spent 2 years getting to this point, and it has been a load of compromising on the road to my ........................................ no , no
Actually its been a lot longer , as I chopped off the back of the garage to build this room some time ago and it has been a 'music' room since then but we have only just but the bricks on the walls and got the furniture. The sound of the room is OK but it is far too lively to be considered a studio , It has a great feel to it ,but not so much the sound it needs at the moment  , but I have plans for some temporary sound treatments that I can put away when I have to .
This room wont stay quite as tidy as this I am sure , but I dont want to upset the applecart tooo soon

I was going to take a picture of the mighty shed studio as it is now, cos it was really close to being ready to do some work in. And then the rain came, and the wall became a water feature, the picture would make me too sad.
Things are not good at the moment.
:(
Sorry to put a dampener (pun intended) on the thread.

i have a wee workshop in the basement. It is as much a spiritual space of retreat as a creative space. I limit myself to demoing on laptop loaded Cubase through a very basic Native Instruments Session I/O and an Art tube pre. I have fun with my Maschine Mikro.

Thanks! It's the result of twenty years of acquiring and discarding bits of equipment. These are the ones that I've never got bored with, and use at least every other day. Only thing I really regret selling is my Korg KPR-77, the first drum machine I ever owned and for me the best sounding programmable analogue one. The TR-77 is great though, very much like the later CR-78 but with a snare that's more like the later TR-606 or TR-808! With the exception of the indestructible Jupiter 4, the synth stuff does need a lot of maintenance though, particularly since some of it even gets used live.

I have recently moved house and, in the process, have had to move my studio into the garden. It is a work inprogress but here is the building it is being housed in.

I'm so jealous of the space you guy's have, I'm currently waiting for the drains on my resources to become of age so they can move into a place of their own and give me a room back. They are fifteen, twelve and two so I'm not holding my breath though.
[/quote] I feel your pain lol I need a little hiding hole bass den kinda place but alas a long wait mine are 19 10 and 2 mind you the 19 year old is at uni yay :)

Nice looking Shed Rob, mine leaked like a sieve, and is being abandoned, I advise you to go nuts with all the waterproofing you can. Recent weather events should show up any leaky spots pretty quickly. :)

This is the second shed of this type I have had built and the last one was bone dry after 10 years, even having lost the roof felt once. It is also fairly sheltered in the send that it is tucked in the corner under a tree that provdes great cover. So far it has weathered storm after storm with no problems. I am not complacent but, equally, I don't lie awake worrying!

Home studios, mmmmmmmmmmm,
here is mine, its amazing what you can fit in a small space
when you plan it.

i love the old mackie D8B digi desk and hdr24, they have been just great and al prob use them till they fall to bits. ( which might not be long) and i love the sound, both are connected via light pipe.
the MSR 16 has been equally as great i use this to get my ideas down quick (when i get them)
its so quick to use you can have a track done in no time,
the MSR24 at the back is working fine and again i love the sound of, but im restoring it at mo, while using the other, bit of a project, nearly there. :)
