Studio use only. A beautiful instrument handmade in Germany and costing around £1200 new. The neck is fast and the action is really excellent. It's an extremely lightweight and comfortable bass to play. The Esh-Tronic system works very well with lots of tonal variation and a direct out for studio use. The EMG 35DCs supply the growl and top end. The piezo pickup produces plenty of low (almost sub) bottom end (unlike other piezo pickups) and adds a whole other dimension to the sound, thickening it up subtly (can be adjusted) but very nicely. Also features:[list] [*]Rosewood fretboard [*]Schaller tuning heads [*]Graphite nut [*]3-Ply unvarnished maple neck with walnut stripe [*]Unique sanded black satin finish [/list] In absolutely mint condition. Yes, the Esh really needs to be picked up and played to be fully appreciated. The texture, quality of workmanship and playability are all really excellent. Originally, I flew over to Bass Direct to look at fretless basses. Despite having never even laid hands on an Esh before, I came back with this instead!
