I remember the Rocket!! The last place in the local area where you could get a light and bitter and 5 Woodbines for a half crown.

The only music around then was a very out of tune Danny Boy by the crossing at about 11.30.

Good days.

Yep, I used to live just down around the corner 30 years ago and that is exactly how I remember it! I have been told that the area has since been gentrified quite a bit... Edited by Silvia Bluejay

Last time I wore the fez was with my '96 England shirt when we played The King's Head (Acton) just before England -v- Sweden.

When we finished playing, the pub discovered that their Sky contract had been allowed to expire (oops!). No worries, the match was obviously available on terrestrial too.

Then the pub discovered that their aerial had been disconnected (oops!).

Meanwhile, the barman is watching the match on his iPad so one of the punters produces an iPad and does the same.

By now punters are drifting away ... they want to see the match.

So the barman puts a chair on stage (this is before the refurb when they took away the stage, obviously) and balances his iPad on it for the whole pub to watch.

Oh dear.
Oh dear, oh dear.
Oh dearie, dearie me.

That was a Group Match in the June 2012 Euros. We went out on penalties against Italy in the Quarter Finals.

I'm sorry, what was your question again?

Last Saturday's gig at the Chiswick Club Society was the second gig that day for Jack (the first was with King Ralph in the afternoon), less that 24 hours after having a motorbike accident. Luckily the flowing adrenaline and the fun of the gig numbed some of the pain for the duration.

New Year's Eve 2015 at The Sussex Arms in Twickenham! The pub was rammed, there was no space to put decent lighting, but we had a lot of fun!

Happy Jack went a little overboard with his headgear.
