Hey guys,

I've got my beloved Joe Osborn 5 up for sale. Unfortunately it's just not getting played much any more to justify me keeping this beauty, so I'm looking for a new home for it!

It's the "Skyline" series, so crafted in Korea and assembled in the USA. However, if you ask many Lakland owners (me included!) there's so little difference between these and the USA versions that these are more "bang for your buck".

It weighs around 4.25kgs and is strung with some pretty new D'addario Nickel Wounds. This creates a great tone with a low B that is tight and well pronounced. Like all Lakland 5ers, it's a 35" scale bass. I can either be strung through-body or over the top, I have gone for the latter.

There's recordings here with Lakland JO flats on it: https://soundcloud.c.../sets/5er-lines

Based in Hull, Will be going over to the North-West first weekend of April.

A lovely bass, I hope it can find a loving home soon.

UK Sale only please, trying to thin the collection down, so no trades and I won't post abroad.

Peace,

Alec

Great price for a great looking quality bass!

Good luck with sale...

Thanks Nick, I thought it was a good price. I just want to see it used more often than it is at the moment!

I believe Lindy Fralins, somebody may be able to enlighten me though

They changed from Fralins to Lakland/Hanson pups in 2007/8 so could be either, but with an 08 serial probably Lakland. The Fralins have vintage cloth wire and the Laklands have pvc wire so that's one way to tell.
