Twin Humbucker Bass - Recommendations?

Been looking at the Fender Modern Player Jazz because I'm quite interested in the concept of twin humbuckers, but apparently - owing to budget constraints - this bass is a little bit pants in the pickup department.

What would the Basschat Massive recommend? I'd prefer something fairly traditional shape-wise and it has to have four strings and preferably be white with a maple neck (and not be a Warwick), but apart from that I'm not too fussed... budget around £500/£600-ish, I suppose. I thank you! :)

Warwick Rockbass $$?

One of the conditions in the OP was 'not a Warwick', but thanks anyway. :)
Perhaps you can help me, though - how do you actually pronounce '$$' ? Cash? Dollars? ...What?

Or just buy a decent jazz and upgrade it yourself with some GFS MMbuckers.

Could be the most affordable solution. Or... get The Bass Doc to do it for me. :D
Trouble is, I'm not a fan of Jazz necks.

Fender Blacktop jazz. - i have one if hou want a play - a left of centre little gem

Or you could get a Blacktop Precision if you want a P neck rather than a J.

Funnily enough, i was convinced i wanted a modern player until i tried a Blacktop

Wow, very interesting. Especially in this colour combo:
But I have a horrible feeling an HH would be a touch over my budget... :)

That's the ticket. Unfortunately they are quite pricey and I think they have a price rise due very very soon. They are worth it though.

You might be able to pickup a 4 HH Stingray secondhand or £850-£1000 depending on condition and colour.
