lukeward2004 Posted May 13, 2014 Share Posted May 13, 2014 Hey folks, Havent been on here for a while, used to frequent these forums quite a bit - havent been active for a while however! Ive had a bit of a break away from the bass and gigging for the last 2 years, after the demise of my function band, but am now back at it with a vengeance since being asked to perform as part of a live band for a young and upcoming artist named Tara Deane. A bit about me - been an out and out bassist for almost 15 years, have done gigs all over the place both big and small, and I love anything with a groove. Generally speaking I am a fingerstyle player, and I play by ear. I can learn anything I put my mind to, although I am a little rusty on things so im spending what little free time I have getting my chops back (including going through various slap exersises I used to nail in Stuart Claytons guidebook). The past two years Ive been a competitive powerlifter, away from music, and generally just doing family things. Having seen many of my idols live, I am now ready to get stuck into something meaty, and am working with Tara Deane on her live act. I am also working with Rob Thom on some more originals stuff, but im predominantly playing and he is writing. For the gearheads out there - I play Warwick basses, my main axe being a Streamer Stage 2 5 string. Also have a Streamer LX5 as a backup, all through a Bass Pod XT Pro > Aphex Aural Exciter>QSC poweramp and out through an Epifani UL310 cab.
