[/quote] Ah.. I see where the confusion has come from! What I meant is that the neck pickup AND tone are backed off. Same for the bridge pup. It sounds great but I noticed that the output was incredibly low compared to my P's, and I couldn't figure out why... until I put flats on it, and BOOM! My God, what a glorious noise. Fat growl! I dunno what kind of rounds it had on it, bit there can't be much metal in 'em. This bass is so well put together. If I can sweet-talk Mrs. WoT I can see myself keeping this AND getting a maple-neck P. It's and absolute monster, and it feels like an old friend already. Sounds just like a Jazz Bass should. I wonder how this chap and similar builders get away with using the Fender logo on the headstock, though? It just nails the warm, lived-in vintage vibe perfectly. I've been holding out for an early 70s maple-board P, but I'm 100% convinced something from Limelight will quench the GAS, at my exact spec, at a fraction of the price. Fraction of the price, Marks attention to detail and ability and taste is excellent from what I've seen/heard but most importantly, it's something I can take out without having a heart attack every time someone looks at it! I've always wanted a Pino P bass with P bass neck, but only very minor wear (just enough to make it look like a bass that's been used but never really abused). FIesta Red/Tort/Dark Rosewood. Yum.
