Hello,

just been looking around the barefaced site and spotted the retro Two10. Thinking this might a new addition but anyone had chance to check one out?

What do you reckon?

There was a rather shouty and not terribly informative thread about these a few weeks ago.

Will do sir, though I'd imagine it'll look similar to their other cabs!

This 'hybrid resonator' description is as clear as mud. Puts me right off when a manufacturer goes all marketing-speak. If it's a low-tuned ported cab why not say it? Or if it's something else like a passive radiator then why not say that? Or if it is something like a hybrid port/ transmission line (ie a system where standing waves are not minimised) then say that, though that would be ironic given what I remember of Alex's previous contributions to threads on TL speakers for bass guitar.
There is a bigger irony in the evolution of barefaced products back toward the higher qts-style midbass bump, since that was exactly the type of sound so roundly derided when BF first started. But it is a good sound :)

I know what you mean about the description, but OTOH they are still going to great lengths to be as transparent as possible about the performance specs of the cab, which is perhaps more useful information from a players point of view. And hey, you can have fun guessing what's going on with the ports when someone on here buys one and takes photos!
I'd be very curious to hear what these new cabs sound like, though I'm avoiding succumbing to GAS partly by already having nice sounding cabs to suit the variety of gigs I do, and partly by having very little disposable income...

I have heard about these. Would one of these be light enough for me to carry? I'm only little.

Did you get it already ........ and when you do will you be posting pictures?

No word of it yet...

And yes, but as I've said, it'll probably look like... a bass cabinet!

...and it may be some time. One of Alex's 3 staff is hospitalized after a serious (non-work related!) injury... Hope the guy is ok.

I'm in no hurry for my cab and I'd factored some delay into the wait for the premises move anyway, so I'm happy enough to wait.

I`m really quite excited with the prospect of one of these.
My OrMat 200 runs down to two ohms and I have a `69er. I got rid of my 8x10 for the `69er and I miss having the omph that those extra speakers provided.
That`s not to say that the Barefaced is in any way lacking, We are just a little bit on the loud side.

Any sign of it yet? Heard any news?

Alex's reply to the same question on 22nd September:

"Hi Ian,

Hopefully we'll get the CNC machine up and running again this week and then we can cut yours! Need to design the steel grill and get them made too...

Best regards,

Alex"

...so reading between the lines I'd say that means "don't hold your breath just yet"...

Nope...

Check link from site Ordering and Availability
That page states that the first of the Retro 10 cabs have gone out, but I suspect that it's the 6x10 that refers to. As yet I've had no further update with regards the 2x10... and I'm first in the queue for that one...
