ALLEVA-COPPOLO KBP5 (2009)

Top-end boutique Precision by Jimmy Coppolo (made in NYC before he moved his workshop). Rare Antigua / greyburst finish. 34” scale, 19mm string spacing at the bridge.

Immaculate condition, weighs just over 10lbs.

High-quality semi-rigid case.

Clarky and I spent a year or two selling this bass back to each other, and it remains one of my all-time favourites. It needed something very special to knock it off its perch, but eventually that something very special came along.

Hi bassarama, I'm sure Jack will get back to you if I'm wrong but he does say he is not interested in trades and if you search you will see he is also selling a 70s Precision as part of a gear clear-out.

What i will say is (a) I don't like 5 strings and ( b ) this bass is the one that nearly persuaded me to change that view (so much so I owned it twice!). Stunning workmanship, beautiful finish and sounds wonderful

Hi jack,

Do you have any sound clips of this lovely looking bass?
Regrettably not, Chris, and I will struggle to put any up within the next two weeks (I know, I know).

It's a very, very nice P-bass and that's exactly how it sounds. Don't be fooled by the maple board and the usual cliches about that adding 'snap' and mids; this is a very mellow sounding bass which has a lovely vintage vibe to the sound.

The neck is really quite shallow, which works well with a 19mm-spacing 5-string. I don't know how 'fast' it is - I'm built for comfort, not speed.

Oh my, that is so, so nice. Unfortunately I'm little short of available funds to buy it - around £2249 short.........

However have a bump on me as somebody far richer than me must want this amazing bass surely!?! I mean, just look at it (sigh...)

I'm not even sure whether this is available (I'd fully comprehend if it's a keeper), and I can't afford it at the moment (especially with this ridiculous GBP/EUR exchange ratio), but this definitely is the most beautiful P bass I've ever seen. Being recently hooked on P thing (after borrowing a friend's Precision Elite I for some studio work and a gig) first time in my life, I'm bumping this for my own comfort - so that I don't need to search much to find the gallery link, which I visit at least once every few days :) An absolute stunner (and passive - I just love passive basses)!!!

Thanks mate, and I do understand about the exchange rate!

This is one of those basses that I've decided to sell if the right offer is made, but I'm in absolutely no hurry to get rid of it.

Chances are that I'll still have it when you've got the money together. :)
