Anyhow think i'm in the club  . Marks going to send me a tort plate in the post though - (I love the look of your P Skej21), he didn't have one at the time.

So, yup...pretty amazing aren't they, so happy with the weight too - i have to many very heavy basses!!!. I'd write a lot more but i need a P-Funk... :D

Oooooh! Im glad mine inspired you to go for the same colour scheme. It'll look lovely and if it plays anything like mine, it'll be worth every penny :-) NBD thread with sound samples/pics (especially once you fit the tort guard!!)

Yes, I think you're in the club... ;) Though I really like it with the white guard.

Cheers chaps - feeling the Limelight lurvvve, I've managed to put it down now.

Really liking the P vibe again, although i think I'll always be a jazzman at heart...but this will certainly be my funky/soul bass for some time me thinks...loving the sound with the tone slightly rolled off; I do wonder what pick ups are used in these basses.

The white scratchplate is growing on me, liking the aged look of it, although i do love the tort/creamy off white combo...was Mark's tort any good or pizza? i see one of you had sent off for another tort right ??? I'll probably do a belated NBD when i get the tort - it'll sound better  .

Reet, might have another quiet little tinkle whilst baby is asleep ;)

I've ordered a Spitfire tort guard. There's nothing wrong with Mark's tort guards, but Spitfire are the canine's orbs.

Very nice pics! :)
Still think you need a Spitfire guard, though... :P

Don't take this wrong way but I liked the tort guard mark gave you more than the spitfire one, so I think I'm gonna stick with mine. I'm sure the bank manager will thank me for that decision too!

Yes, the operation did involve the expenditure of time and money, and there's nothing wrong with your P pickguard anyway - it looks absolutely fine - I'm just being deliberately irritating, as usual... :) But I felt my Limelight pickguard was a bit 'salami' if you know what I mean - though Mark's relic job on the guard was brilliant in itself.
Anyway, I can't spend that much on a pickguard and then not like it, can I?? :D

Interest shown in Spitfire pickguard by myself and members of Basschat and Talkbass forums: 100%
Interest shown in Spitfire pickguard by friends, family, band members and the public in general: 0%

So it was totally worth it!!

It's a total cracker imho and just the right level of relic for it to look properly convincing.
Sounds great too, which is just as important, really... :D

Me too! :P

Never done one before, certainly don't have multiple brain cells or equipment for sound sample stuff.
In the last two weeks, I could have done them for 54 Blue Flower P RI, Warmoth Gold Flake 54 Tribute and La Cabronita Porazza tribute.
Must stop buying bloody basses
I'm still waiting on my tort plate from Mark, he did email to say there is a slight delay. I've gigged my P twice now and have been very happy indeed although at last nights gig I thought the E string appeared a little bit weaker than the others. However a quick string change and perhaps raise the pick up slightly may sort that out; tonight's wedding gig will be the acid test.

I'm waiting for the bass to be complete before I do a RNBD (recent), plus it will have had several gigs under its belt..but so far I'm very, very impressed with my Limelight P, in fact I'm quite surprised I'm liking the P as much as I do...certainly easier on my back than my nearly 12lb J bass ;)
