Pickup of this one is a Rev Solo. [/quote] Well that was the Jersey ( no VAT ) price , and I don't feel qualified to judge how well it plays or sounds . I have never played another and standing next to it is the worst place to hear it ! The only DB players I have known (from 30 years ago when I quit the music business) are all dead now ! Maybe try one of Ben Bastin's wooden endpins? Old Horse Murphy Posted November 9, 2014 Share Posted November 9, 2014 (edited) Here's my recently acquired Eastern European 3/4 size DB currently strung with Thomastik Spiro Weichs and having just been set up by Edward Gaut of Bristol. Edward fitted a new sound post ( original was rubbish), reshaped the bridge and set the action (currently 7.5mm, 7mm, 6.5mm, 6mm). Fortunately the fingerboard didn't need any work. It's semi-solid with flame maple sides and back. I also went for the antique finish as I prefer it to the gloss finish that was available I've got a Realist incoming and our very own Clarky has lent me a gut D and G string to see how I get on with the lower tension.
