Hello,

I just bought a Stagg and I'm loving it!

But I have come to the conclusion that although I have watched Youtube lessons,(The Geoff Chalmers ones, really awesome btw!) I need a tutor who I can go to so I don't develop any bad habits from the beginning.

My question is those of you who live in the South West. Who have you had good experience with? I have a car now so I can travel a bit for these lessons because I was only planning on having them once every 3 weeks or so. I've had a look in the tutors available section and I've seen a few in Bristol but I'd really love if someone had some experience with someone that they recommend?

Thanks :)

Sorry that was a bit long winded!

Also... I hope here is cool for this :)

I've not had a lesson from him, but I've met Greg Cordez and heard him play -he certainly knows his stuff...

I'm not a teacher (of music) but I'm happy to give you an hour of my time and give you advice/pointers on stance and basic left and right hand technique.

I bought my stunning David Gage Bass from Greg Cordez
(think his username is gcordez on here)

Greg is a great guy to deal with
and a fab DB'er. He even gave me a few quick pointers
I'm sure he'd be a superb tutor, and if I lived a little closer
(+ didn't have the Severn Bridge Toll!)
I'd have absolutely no hesitation in booking a few lessons with him

Even if you get on well with another tutor - give Greg a try too

:)

I've had one lesson with David Heyes, he was very inspiring, I'm just saving up for an upright before I go back for more!
He's based in Somerset, templecombe I think?
Teaches at Wells cathedral school, runs DB workshops, concerts & publishes DB centric music through his website www.recitalmusic.net
Cheers,
Norm.
