2004gdavi Posted September 1, 2014 Share Posted September 1, 2014 Hi I have an NS omni bass 4 string, currently with standard tuning of G, D , A and E high to low. It's a 34 inch scale instrument and I understand it can be tuned in fifths in a similar way to a cello. I like the idea of this to get access to higher registers and to use a bow. Owen Posted September 2, 2014 Share Posted September 2, 2014 My guess would be that the strings on it would be fine to at least get a flavour. The E would go down a 3rd, the A would go down a tone, the D does not move and the G goes up a tone. All things considered, not a huge change in tension.
