The cull continues. Going next is my SQ serial Squier Precision. Absolutely awesome and light instrument - weighs bang on 8lb on my electric bathroom scales.

These date from 83/84 and were the run following the JV series. Highly sought after basses.

All original except for Dunlop Straplocks fitted - currently fitted with a tort pick guard, the original white one comes with it.

It's got a nicely figured three piece ash body. It's got heavy marks of usage, particularly on the side of the body beneath the controls. A few small marks on the neck but nothing that affects playability.

This is a marvellously resonant instrument with a load of bottom mid to the sound that really supports a band in the mix and has received a load of positive comments when I take it out.

Unfortunately the neck on standard P's are just too wide and flat for me, and as i own a pretty awesome 76 with a jazz width neck, this ones got to go.

Not overly keen on trades on this one and would prefer the buyer to try her out in Milton Keynes before buying.

I think that the market is very quiet at the moment. These are nice basses and rightly up there with the JV series unfortunately they don't yet have the same appeal to collectors and 'us players' are all skint! :(

I had an SQ P about 5 years or so back - nicest Precision I've owned, and the best-looking by a long way.

I'd suggest the tort plate's not original - I believe the Burst finish SQs came with a white plate as standard. The original on mine was cracked & I replaced it with a tort, so it looked a lot like this one!

Well Walbassist. That's a good question and one I've never been asked before. I never noticed it being neck heavy, but you made me wonder if that's why I don't take it out too much. So I strapped it on. Hmnnnn . . . does it hang lower I asked myself? I wasn't sure, so I made a pen mark on the wall where the top of the headstock sat, then strapped on my favourite Jazz that I take out all the time and did the same. It sits exactly the same as my fave Jazz so I'd say no, not neck heavy. It's the neck width that swings it for me :-)
