Greggo Posted September 20, 2014 Share Posted September 20, 2014 (edited) I've been lent an Aria Stg series to play for a while and it seems a nice solidly built inexpensive strat copy. This particular model seems to be different to modern versions in that it has an a flame maple neck and maple fingerboard whereas newer ones are rosewood. It sounds pretty strat like too with a nice quack in positions 2 and 4 and the neck pickup has the tone nailed. Anyone had much experience of these? randythoades Posted October 3, 2014 Share Posted October 3, 2014 As far as I know, all the Aria STG series are Chinese build, and are good quality beginner guitars. I have seen some maple board versions floating around although the bulk seem to be rosewood. They still make higher quality versions in Japan but these are badged Aria Pro II. I like the Aria range. My own 'strat' is a maple board 1979 Aria Pro ii and is much better than any of the USA Fenders I have had (several of them) and I have 4 Aria basses too. I like the budget ranges as well but would probably change the electrics to something a bit more robust, but I quite like the pickups. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
