For sale - 2001 MusicMan Sterling Bass USA in trans purple finish. - Price £750

Note: this is NOT a budget 'Sterling' brand/range MusicMan produces these days under the same name. The is the proper Sterling Bass, made in USA, (s/n F03610).
Check out http://www.musicmanb...tompage0030.htm.
And the original posting for this very bass on bassdirect: http://www.bassdirec...g_4H_prple.html

It's been said about these basses times and times again, but can confirm that it has the smoothest and easiest neck to play, really great for slapping if you're into it. The neck is thinner than the Stingray neck.
The bass is in great condition of its age, no dings or cracks or any sort. It has only seen light in-house use since I bought it about 2 years ago (due to the amount of basses I own no one bass gets too much playing time).
I'm selling it due to the lack of room after recent purchases of the Legend 6 from CamdenRob and the Lakeland DJ4 and my recent bias to thicker necks.

The specifications are as follows:

- Ash Body
- Trans Purple finish (Bassdirect called it metallic purple)
- Black pearloid pickguard
- Maple neck
- Maple fingerboard
- 3 band eq
- single humbucker pickup (3-way switch: series/parallel/single)
Included either the good quality gigbag OR Thomann vintage hardcase in excellent condition. (I don't have the original MM case for it)

Willing to ship (via Parcelforce) within UK (included in price), but prefer to do a half way thing (Surrey, West Sussex, South London, M25 service station between jt 6-12 etc.) or local pickup (the bass located near Gatwick)

This used to be mine! And I believe that bottom picture is in my old house! Great bass, looks awesome, plays awesome. :)

Hi Russ, hope you don't mind using one of your pictures which better showed the real colour of the bass

Ha!

Didn't play with Kilmer, but I was in a couple of incarnations of Drella, possibly the most delusional band I've met.

I didn't realise he was that Rob, there have been several line-up changes over the years, but I believe he's responsible for the name
