The future of improvisation?

This guy Onyx Ashanti is a real innovator. I don't pretend to know even a fraction of how he does this stuff, but it seems to be like a virtual sax, consisting of a mouthpiece and two handpieces (that he has invented and 3D printed), each sensitive to various movements, inhaling, exhaling, and voice, and converting to sounds.
Not only does it look to be upping the game in terms of expression and improvisation for this genre, but looks* and sounds great too.

These three videos show the evolution of the interface. He even seems to have introduced 'eye gaze' technology with those glasses.
In the third vid, the music starts around 3:25

*or looks stupid, depending on your point of view. The lights seem to have evolved by the second video.

Really interesting, especially the way the whole thing evolves - video 1 is an interesting concept but he could really be making that music in numerous different ways, but by video 3 you get the sense of his body working with the technology, making some pretty unique sounds.

Haha, just checked on this thread, zero views in three days. I'm guessing that the words 'Innovative Electronic Midi Content' are universally untempting :-D

Looks like it's time for a new title (unless my thread killing skills have come back to haunt me) :huh:

I hope this reply fits in a thread on the future of improvisation . :mellow:

After 1hr12mins08secs in on this video the 74 yr-old improvises along to some loops using his home rig which he had transported on-stage for the talk ;
We don't hear the first addition to the loops until after he has played it , but we hear the subsequent additions as he plays .

- I kept expecting to hear Jaco join in :lol:
