Dynamic. committed bassist with Fender bass and formidibble range of hardcore rock poses seeks up and coming band poised on the brink of greatness.

Very important that the band has unrealistic expectations and delusions of self grandeur.

Must be on the verge of signing with a record label, preferably the label run by the owner of the practice studios where they play.

Must have supported a headline big name act like Boy George at a festival...in a small marquee, away from the main stage where people mainly came for the beer and to escape the rain.

Lead singer must be arrogant and only be interested in the band as a vehicle for his own career. Alternatively if female singers, they must be preoccupied with themselves and give only fleeting acknowledgement to the other musicians, apart from the keyboardist who aligned himself with them years ago, knowing that if anyone was going to bring in the punters it was the pieces of totty in tight dresses.

Guitarist must have a pretentious vision for the band that extends over 5 concept albums, ultimately finishing with a greatest hits album with the London Symphony Orchestra.

Drummer must be too loud and speed up into the choruses and bridge, and agree with everything the singer says unless contradicted by the keyboardist. Or the guitarist...if that's OK with the singer.

Keyboardist should be aloof and smug. Given website and app development is his day job, he will have sequenced everything and the majority of his rehearsal time is spent on the sly, trying to come up with ideas to sell to Google, make millions and retire.

If you know of a band like this, please drop me a line. I will make sure to avoid them.

Hi, really sorry to disappoint you but we are averagely ambitious, still looking for a smug enough keyboard player or, at the very least, one with a big enough van to keep us in the style and discomfort we are used to. Naturally, being the singer, I don't have to tell you that my limitations are brilliant (cos there aren't any!!!!). Drummer is loud but very metronomical. As for the guitarist, lacking in smugness but is absolutely brilliant. Haven't supported Boy George.

So are you still looking for a band to join? If you are, would be interested in talking to you. We are a hard rock/metal band with one album, another hopefully at the end of the year (but no recording contract with owner of rehearsal rooms or local burger van). Lots of internet airplay and several gigs lined up this year. Look forward to hearing from you.Cheers. Paul
