Hartke LH1000 in Gator Rack and Laney NX115 1x15" Cab - WITHDRAWN
£650

I've decided that I simply don't need as much gear as this as most of the gigs we do are pubs with PA provided so i am selling my amp and one of my cabs.

Hartke LH1000

The amp needs no introduction, it's the rock solid Hartke LH1000. It can go from 225w a side at 8 ohms up to 1100w at 4ohms in bridged mode.

The controls are simple with a preamp volume then tone controls with bass mid and treble. there's a limiter and a bright function although I've never had the need to use either.

One great thing about it having 2 separate power amps is that you could actually run different cabs to each side in dual mono mode. Eg you could have 2 4ohm cabs connected on one side and a single 8 ohm cab on the other. It has a balance knob so you can adjust the output to each side.

I changed the original valve so it now I think has a JJ Tesla ECC803 and it comes in a Gator shallow rack which is a perfect size for the amp.

The official specs are:

Dual Parallel mode offers 2 x 225 watts at 8 ohms, 2 x 320 watts at 4 ohms, 2 x 545 watts at 2 ohms

Bridge mode offers 750 watts at 8 ohms, 1,100 watts at 4 ohms

Classic 12AX7 Class A tube preamp circuit

Bass and Treble shelving, Mid-peak EQ controls

Selectable Brite and Limiter switch with LED indicator

Balance control blends level of A and B outputs

Front panel balanced XLR direct output

Rear panel 1/4" Effects loop

1/4" and Speakon™ output connectors

2-rackspace metal chassis with steel faceplate and handles
This cab has been with me for 2 or 3 years now and is fantastic. It's rated 800w @ 8ohms and is very light for a 4x10" due to marine grade ply construction and Celestion neo speakers. It has speakon/jack combi sockets (in & out) and on/off & full/half switches for the horn.

This cab has been kept in a Roqsolid cover since day 1 and even the cover looks brand new. It is fitted with wheels and the only marks I can find are on the underside, presumably when loading in and out of the car

Here's a link to a review of this cab I did last year

Again, the official specs are:

Cabinet Design
Marine Grade plywood cabinet with large grip handles, and kick proof metal grille

Drivers
4x 10" Custom Celestion Neodymium
Frequency Response
50Hz to 15KHz
Impedance
8 ohms

Inputs
2x Speakon/Jack combi socket
Kick Proof Metal Grill
Yes
Ports
Front
Power
800 Watts (8 ohms)
Sensitivity
100dB @ 1 watt / 1 metre
Weight
27.5 Kg
Unit Dims - for int. case (HxWxD mm)
643 x 643 x 403

Like all of my gear, both items have been very well looked after, never kept in the car overnight and always in the house when not being used. In fact the rack still has the Gator tag on the handle.

I am looking for £330 for the Hartke including the Gator rack and £320 for the Laney cab or nearest offers. Posting isn't a problem if you’re too far away to collect. I would just need to get a hold of some cardboard. The combination of Hartke and Laney is phenomenal together so I may be able to do you a deal if buying both together.

I would also be happy to meet up within reason

For payment I would be looking for cash on collection or bank transfer if posting.

As for trades, I’m not really looking for anything at the moment although I am a Barefaced virgin so to speak so may be interested in one of those.

Any trades would need to involve cash my way unless you want to do a straight swap with the amp and cab for a US Musicman Stingray or Sterling as this will be on my list next year as I get near my 40[sup]th[/sup] birthday.

Any questions, just fire away.

And now, lots of pics

Absolutely.

I've always hated ragged, worn stuff. I like to keep my gear in tip top condition. I'd have covers for the covers if that was a possibility

I understand that this is as bad a time for coming up with cash for stuff so I am open to trades. I don't need the money and I'm not desperate to sell so will let this tick along until someone offers me either a trade or some cash.

I gig regularly in the Edinburgh and Fife areas so a meet up or drop off would be possible

I've decided that after tonight's gig I'd like a complete change so I have decided to offer my NX115 cab as well.

The cab is 400w @ 8ohms is in the same condition as the other two items.

I am going to offer this as a complete stack with the Laney NX410, NX115 & Hartke LH1000 for £800 obo collected or meet up etc. The retail on these is around £1440 including the cost for the rack and the covers.

It's also available with just the NX410 and LH1000 for £600 obo collect etc.

If both cabs sell at the same time I will need a couple of days to get myself another one

I only have a couple of camera pictures but I'll get more up over the weekend. And before anyone says anything, yes the 15" cab is on the top because I like the sound of it that way :santa:

I always used to do the same with my old Trace Elliot stack! B)

Cool.

It was a funny crowd last night, I wasn't feeling the love. Bit of a sausage fest as well - a distinct lack of honeys compared to normal Finnegans gigs.

I've put my backup Ashdown MAG400 and the 4x10" on Egay.

I've just looked at my Ebay seller dashboard and I've sold £36750 worth of bass gear since 2003 :o That's frightening

It's looking like the end of February by which time it will be long gone I'm afraid.

I have a few interested parties for both amps and one of the cabs but nothing cast in concrete yet so they are all still available for now

I'd ideally like to keep a hold of the 15" cab so will only sell it in combination with the other cab or with the other cab and the amp

NX410 = £310 collected/meet up

LH1000 = £320 collected/meet up

NX410 & LH1000 = £600 collected/meet up

NX115 & NX410 = £500 collected/meet up

NX115, NX410 & LH1000 = £790 collected/meet up

I am open to offers within reason. At this moment in time I'm not looking for any trades but you can still try me. You might have something that I didn't know I wanted or needed

I will be using the NX115 & the Hartke LH1000 tomorrow night in Binkies in Edinburgh. I also plug the amp into the house Ampeg cab.

This is what I mentioned earlier about being able to mix and match impedencies - The Laney is 8ohm and the Ampeg is 4ohm but because it has 2 separate power amps it doesn't matter.

On Friday night I will be in the Duchess in Kirckaldy and this is likely to be the last gig of the year so you can have it all. I might take both cabs and the LH1000 even though there is a mental PA system there just for the hell of it.

I have now sold my Orange Terror Bass and my Ashdown MAG400 so this is the only amp I have. I have one gig left and that is this Friday 19th so I will need it for that. I have checked the courier website and if someone were to buy it and need it couriered I can have it collected on Monday and it will get to you before Santa comes.

I would still prefer collection or meet up for the NX410 as I will need to find cardboard to get it wrapped up. I can do it but, again, it may be Monday before I have it ready as i want to pack it properly.

I have identified one possible trade and that is for a Fender Rumble V3 500 combo. If anyone has one and they're looking to go large and loud then I'd be interested to hear from you regarding a trade. It must be in mint condition and ideally have a cover.

A new band with a full pa means I don't need all of this. the reason I would like to keep the NX115 is for any dep gigs I do with no pa support so that I can connect this to the combo

That's me all gigged out for this year so this will all sit now in the hall cupboard until the end of January before I need it again.

For meet ups you have the choice of any day between today and the 23rd of December and then the 26th. After that it will be it from the 5th January onwards as I will be enjoying the Christmas spirits so won't go anywhere near the car.

I am open to reasonable offers. I could be tempted with a bass and cash depending on the bass as I already have the money sitting to get my combo when they finally get them back in stock.

I think that the biggest problem with the Laney cabs is that where do you buy them? Who do you know that has them? Famous artists using them?

I've put some serious volume through these cabs and always listen carefully but they have never sounded like they were being pushed too much.

Personally, I see them as a modern day Trace Elliott. They're loud, sound good, are practically indestructible but weigh a lot less. Each cab can be used on it's own for a high quality single cab setup or together for a high powered, monster setup.

If I wasn't changing bands I would be keeping all of it - this rig was the reason that I disappeared from the forum for over a year as it covered every gig for me from the smallest bar gig to the largest venue. I would like to keep the 15" cab in case I have a dep that requires a larger rig but am happy to let it go with the other cab or the other cab & amp as they sound incredible together.

Thanks - it does sound really good but I just don't need it as I was in the position of being in a rock band with two guitarists when I bought it but have just joined a new band.

I've just found the original valve. it's a Russian Sovtek, which I will include in the sale of the amp if you'd rather have that. Turns out the valve I put in the amp is a JJ ECC83S.

I'm not currently looking for trades unless it's for a current version Fender Rumble 500 combo in excellent condition

Last bump before Christmas

It's all still for sale but I'm going to let it slide now. I'm in no hurry to sell the best rig I've ever owned - and I've owned a hell of a lot of stuff over the years

The combo I am looking at buying won't be in stock until the middle of January so there's no hurry to sell.

feel free to ask any questions

Ach, what the hell. It's Christmas:

Come to my door with £575 cash and the 4x10", LH1000, top quality speaker lead and mains lead are yours. Come with £750 and you can have the 4x10", 1x15", Hartke LH1000, two top quality speaker cables and a mains lead for the amp.

That's the lowest I can go. I will hold onto it all if it doesn't sell for that as that's about half what it would cost you new

Trade value for the 4x10" & LH1000 is £600 and £800 for both cabs and the amp

The Laney cabs are big unknown for many people but look at it like this:

They're made from top quality materials and fitted with Celestion Neos.

The 4x10" weighs 27.5kg and the 1x15" is 21kg so they're light.

They're in incredibly good condition thanks to the Roqsolid covers and the fact that I look after my gear

Guitarist-proof metal grills

They go very loud

They look really cool

They will help you get girls*
What you have are two great cabs capable of going incredibly loud if the need arises. The amp I don't need to go into - it's a simple great sounding amp.

Today's trade of choice would be a Precision of some description. Preferably red with maple fretboard or whatever as long as it's not a jazz bass.

* ability to get girls not guaranteed as dependent on coolness of player, car and bass faces made during performance.

Laney 4x10" provisionally sold. On hold until Wednesday.

I've put a wanted ad on here as well but I'd also be interested in trading the amp or the amp and cab for one of the following:

Fender Rumble 500 V3 Combo
Gallien Krueger MB212 Combo
