I hope you enjoy it.
The vids don't sell it to me unfortunately. Maybe if I get to try one in person, it might be different ;)

That's the problem with Octave/Sub pedals, you need to hear them in the same room with a cab!

I think all that video proves is that you can't really decide until you play them yourself. They both sound good to me. There's a split second IN PASSING where the 3leaf IS as fat sounding as the oc2 which makes me think there could have been more of an attempt to make them sound alike, and the -2 octave on the oc2 is brought into play at one point, which makes comparison difficult since the 3leaf doesn't do it. If I didn't have a COG fuzz/octave combo due I'd be tempted to try the 3leaf. Tom's octave has similar sound shaping options to the 3leaf, but without the switching flexibility as standard - something Tom could rectify in a custom build no doubt.

I'm trying to resist on this one but it is tempting!! Thing is, I'm starting to resent all the money I've spent on pedal quests over the years, and my OC-2 with a DOD octoplus on the shelf does everything I need... I'd really love to try one of these with my fuzz pedals though :)

I definitely think I'd use the option of switching the clean signal off and on mid song, but I don't know that that is worth the £££

If that isn't, justify it with a very, very convincing version of the two greatest octaves ever made in one pedal.

I would already have purchased one if I had the moolah!

here is a video presenting 3Leaf Audio Octabvre vs. Boss OC2 (Japan)

So far, how do you like the 3Leaf?

Personally, I do not know if I would dig it (I am not a massive fan of the OC-2 anyways...) but I do like the approach with the SUB SOLO thingy going on.

  • 2 weeks later...

Im Staying with my OC2...why? Because its the Original of this Synthy Bass Sound!! .& while the 3 leaf stuff is good..(i have the Proton II) mixed with the boss...The Sounds is just as convincing as the Octabvre....Plus a big factor for me is that i only use the synth bass thing infrequently...& i dont think this box will out strip....the OC2.
