It’s finally here. Kissed a lot of frogs to find this one.

As foretold:
1) Much of the stuff out there is appalling

2) You never quite end up with what you set out for

3) All roads lead to Andy Baxter
Never owned a maple fingerboard before and never thought I would. But this is a bass to play, not hang on a wall, and this plays like a dream. Super thin quick neck (thinner than my American Std), fantastic variety of sound, real depth and resonance.
Big thank you to the fellow BC’ers who helped guide me home on this one.

Collected at lunch today and so keen to get involved, had a half hour headphone amp jam in the disabled toilet. :i-m_so_happy:

1972 Jazz, Maple / Sunburst, pearl blocks & bound, 4 bolt neck. 8.8lbs. Apart from the nut, all completely original. For the next few months at least - 'all the bass I'll ever need'

And here we are on our first date

I read that as, 'had a headphone amp jam in the disabled toilet.' Which is unsurprising, really.
Very nice bass though - I love maple necks, me. Enjoy.

Have I missed something? It's not a 'relic' - it's the real thing...

I mean when basses look old and worn. I know this is authentic wear but usually this wear is not my cup of tea looks wise.

Couldn't think of a better word than 'relic'
