Beware the lack of definition with a proper mudbucker.
The Mikey Way is a a tame humbucker which to be honest suits it better.

Fair point on the mudbucker. I think the body on those is routed for a few variations so there are options. Mustangs are a popular little modification bass and with that body colour the pickup configuration should be loud too

That's a very important point! No doubt about it, the positioning of the top strap button off-sets the body towards the left resulting in poor ergo's - neck dive and extended reach to the lower frets. For me it's the one (fairly big) fly in the SG ointment.
