Hartke lh500/1000 as power amp?

Hi guys,

Just wanted to know if anyone has experience of using one of these amps as a poweramp using a different preamp and if its even possible to do so? I want something I can rack so its a toss up between a powerful but cheapish bass amp or a standalone poweramp. My streamliner has a preamp input but I'm unable to rack it as cant find a rackmount kit for the life of me. Looking at the rear of the Hartke (photos) - it doesnt appear to have a preamp input and dont have experience of using 'effects send' etc - so can I plug my vtype preamp in on the back anywhere?

Sorry if this is a stupid question!

Thanks
Freddie

You should buy an LH500. In fact, you should buy mine! ;)

I am interested however - you're a bit to far from me to be honest and I can get one new from GAK delivered for £233.

Thanks
Freddie

The front end is pretty much the same as the Vtype - just try one anyway..you'll probably like it!

True, the schematic topology is similar - So I'd go with just getting a big beast like the LH1000 - though the LH500 is no slouch. Other than being heavier than D Class offerings, it's practically unbeatable with reference to 'value for money'.
