update on this

unfortunatly, that jack wasnt suitable (i dont know the technical term, but the jack i bought only had 3 metal things that soldered to the circuit board, whilst the one installed had 4). i soldered it in, and it didnt work. however, after bending the contacts of the old one around a bit, and resoldering it back to board, the old one now works perfectly!! lucky ay? when it stops workin again sometime next week, il post again :)

Save yourself some worry. Contact EBMM customer service, NOT the forum. They would have you for lunch if you dare post a problem with a product. Customer service is easy to work with and ask them to sell you a jack. Tell them the problem, and you never know, they might just send you one free. I'm NOT saying they will, but I've heard of it hapening. Anyway, you can at least purchase the right jack.
