FS/FT - 1991 Stingray with Status graphite neck SOLD
£1000

Never thought this day would come . . . The last recording sessions I have been happier with the sound recorded with a precision bass. Now even playing live I find the P bass to sit in the mix better.

So up for trade is my 1991 Musicman Stingray with Status graphite neck. Standard 2 band eq and pup this thing sounds amazing and is zingtastic!
This has been my main giging bass for the last how many years and has been around the world with me playing & never letting me down. As such it does bare some battle scars and blemishes on the body. I will get some better photos taken and posted up.
It comes with the original SR4 neck which is a gorgeous birds eye maple. For my this is one of the best eras for stingray basses.

PRICE DROP now - £SOLD

I am looking to trade is for/against a nice fender precision (USA) please. A punchy 70's would be my preference. What have you got?

Bass is in Glasgow if anyone fancies a blast on it.

Cheers!

Yep....string mutes on the bridge, Bird's eye maple neck AND a Status graphite neck - all for a grand???

This will appeal to many, how many of the many have what you're after is a different matter...

I don't expect this to be around for too long TBH.

Sell it and have your choice of Precisions, trade only means you end up with very limited choice of Precisions, especially given the number of good Precisions that are out there for sale only at present. I'll give you a grand for your 'ray for sure

A grand trade value? With the original and Status neck? Seriously??

Has to be worth more than that. At least stick to your trading guns though, don't sell it that cheap for cash whatever you do! :)

Why, no logic there at all? Most folks at present are selling for cash as there are a lot of bills to pay this time of year. Trade only means you need to find the owner of a good PBass who also wants a stingray, as opposed to the seller of a good PBass. The latter's a far bigger pond. Best bet, sell the bass in original configuration and the neck separately for a total of £1200 and buy one of the '77s on here at present. C

I was more coming from trade only with that kind of value, as opposed to selling for cash at such a low price. I totally agree that selling the way you suggest would be the best way of stumping up the right amount of cash, reckon he could get a little more than £1200 all in, depending on the condition of that original neck :)

I tried that bass briefly once, when I bought "me and my bass"'s 75RI Jazz... and I can confirm it is a fantastic Stingray, from a great guy.

It almost makes me want to buy a USA Precision just to trade it! This must be one of the very nicest Stingrays I ever played.

edit: oh, for sale now? It won't last long!!!! :gas:

I've been a member her a while, and was a member in former incarnations. From time to time, and certainly recently there have been mutterings about this forum not being what it used to be (I myself have muttered), and some old members have moved on as the result. These days I tend to just think to myself 'Beedster, it's just the cycle of life, everything seems to change, but things just tend to stay the same anyway. BC is still what it's always been"

Then I came to this thread today, and my views have changed. The fact that this bass has survived unsold for over 1 month indicates one thing and one thing only. There is something seriously wrong with Basschat these days

I am suprised this is still here myself mate. I will keep plugging it away until payday this month where I might just pull the trigger on a precision and keep this as well . . What the Mrs will say is a different matter.
