Trace Elliot AH1000 - Strange sound from right channel

Hi,

I have a Trace Elliot AH1000 amp head connect to 2 TE Cabs, 1x18 and 4x10. When I turn on the amp, the left channel is clean as a bell and sounds great, the right channel sounds like a car engine revving with or without an instrument plugged in.

Swapping round the speakers simply changes which cab the noise comes from so it's not the cables or the cabs.

Anyone got any ideas what it could be?

It obviously needs repairing, so any suggestion on where to get it fixed in the Oxfordshire area would be appreciated too!

All the best,

Rich

Hi All,

lol @ goingdownslow :)

It's the Peavey made one, so the later AH-1000, 2007'ish I guess. Can find our for sure next time it's in front of me.

I'm pretty techy so if it's something I can take a look at myself then I'll have a go....don't mind looking for the 'power supply decoupling cap' if you can expand on that a bit, I'm guessing it's near the flux capacitor? :D

Cheers,

Rich
