gary mac Posted June 19, 2015 Share Posted June 19, 2015 Super glue would work if you can get it in. A little masking tape either side for protection and to keep the glue in place. Beer of the Bass Posted June 19, 2015 Share Posted June 19, 2015 Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) in the bottom of the slot with a drop of thin superglue sets to a substance which is probably harder than the original plastic and can be filed cleanly. I haven't read up on the chemistry of this, but there must be something going on as it sets much faster than the glue does normally and produces some heat. Do it somewhere well ventilated! Wait 2 mins, remove tape and blow away excess and it's set like rock. Filed it flat and it's fixed! Legend, that's a great tip. Worked like a charm and I'm up and running with no more nasty buzzing! brensabre79 Posted June 22, 2015 Share Posted June 22, 2015 You can also use the baking soda / super-glue tip for body/neck repairs. If you have a bit of wood dust from sanding you can add this to the baking soda for a pretty close colour match too. It works great on pickup screw holes that have blown out.
