To my horror, when fitting a new set, I found the scale length of the new strings to be shorter!!..the main body of the string finishing short of the nut. all three packs are the same! Just for info, the bass is a musicman (through body bridge) I have used these strings for years and they used to fit perfectly. which strings should I now use?.40-95 gauge. Dood Posted June 24, 2015 Share Posted June 24, 2015 How odd! - I'd suggest checking with D'Addario UK and maybe seeing if the 'extra long' set of the same gauge will suit.
