confused about pot taper for a tonepump preamp

Hi there,

the spector wiring diagram states that I would need a B250K pot for the vol control... but 'B' is linear?!

I should be going for audio right? A250K?

However, i'm concerned that the preamp has circuitry which caters for the taper, and I don't want to fiddle with factory spec...

Any ideas?

thanks

For the sake of posterity - turns out that I need linear after all! I was one click away from ordering audio!

From Petr - (who responded same day!) :)

volume pot should be audio

Two pickups - balance, bass, treble & volume is here:

this balance pot should be linear - 2x500k/B or 2x250k/B for passive pickups, 2x25k/B for active ones

Two pickups - 2 x volume, bass & treble is here:

these volume pots should be linear, too - 500k/B or 250k/B for passive pickups, 25k/B for active ones.
