Effects Power Supply

Looking to upgrade my power supply for the pedal board folks.

The Voodoo Lab PP2 is top of the list but I'm only stalling due to it being £150.

What is everyone using? I like the idea of isolated supply for each pedal but not sure I can justify £150..

Id say that the best power supply is the gigrig system. if your worried about cost though, id buy just their isolator, and power it using something like the 1spot or the diago supply.

Wow the gigrig system looks impressive! like the idea of being able to cut the power cables to length - no mess! (By my own admission, I'm a bit anal when it comes to a tidy pedal board!)

Looking at the T-Rex, the classic doesn't have isolated grounds for each output, so you might as well just daisy chain off one of its 9v outputs. The Junior, however, does have 5 isolated 9v outputs!

Oh gawd I dunno, the Voodoo labs seems to tick all my boxes - IEC input connector so you don't have to coil up mains cable in your pedal board when you finish - loads of isolated outputs - fits under a pedaltrain (also on the wish list!)..

None of your pedals are particularly thirsty, nor hardcore digital pedals, so I don't think isolated outputs would be overly necessary.
I'm a big advocate of the Gigrig system, great products and solid powering solutions.

another happy gigrig user here, upgraded from the diago power supplies not because there bad but just the ease of the gigrig system made sense, and the fact that i can run the alot of big pedals and not worry is a massive bonus! admit my power is overkill as i have 2 distributors and 2 isolators.

but as a warning be sure to check what gigrig advice to supply your unit with as i didnt check the first time and found a few of my pedals didnt like the iso power.

10 isolated outputs :)

Ah, okay. I had only seen this one, which seams to be a fancy daisy chain with a couple of voltage doublers.

Can I throw in something here. When I was putting my board together, I did investigate a load of brands/models, but just went with a Thomann/Harley Benton one. It sits underneath my board and quietly does (and continues to do) what its supposed to.

Why anyone would want to shell out five times more for something that does the same job is beyond me.

If the HB supply has enough current for you, then great. Its really cheap for an isolated supply. If you're like me and have a bunch of thirsty digital pedals through, you're probably better off with the gigrig system.

I'm running a Boss tuner, Boss overdrive, a Sansamp BDDI, Sansamp VT Bass DI and a Morley ABY. I'm planning on adding a chorus, but no rush. They're all 9v and the PSU outputs at that voltage. No issues.

I suppose if/when it carks out, I'll simply replace it like for like. Still can't see the point in spending any more.

Mine is good too, and I've no issue with the quality... but at 120ma per ouput it does limit the usage. I've had my pedal board cut out as some of my pedals were just to thirsty. But if the power consumption isnt a problem, I'd always gofor the HB... in fact I had 2 for a bit!
