FS MA45 and Crazy 8 dedicated double bass cabs - WITHDRAWN/SOLD
£700

Recommended Posts

I am selling a couple of my DB cabs to make way for new gear. They are both designed and built by Mike Arnopol and imported from USA. As the title says, they are double bass specific and have a big following over there.

The MA 45 is a ported cab with 4x 5" 8 ohm speakers. Coupled to an amp it gives a clear sound with minimal boom, even if driven hard. The Rev has one and he's very pleased with his. It has a Roqsolid cover and is in immaculate condition. It would cost £700 to import it. Yours for £450

Crazy 8 is a minute cab that outperforms its size. As the name implies it has an 8" 8ohm driver. It suffered a bit of damage to one of its corners but it has been repaired. Its performance is unaffected. It comes with a padded bag for transport. Because it's not quite perfect the price is SORRY, NOW SOLD.

I will respond to all PMs with photos or any other info that may be required. Will demo in Oxfordshire to interested purchasers.

MAS45s are great cabs - I'm currently considering whether I have a need for 2 cabs.....

Although these cabs are designed to work best with double bass, they also work very well with electric bass - ideal for anyone who has a doubling gig.

If you're not aware of the good work done by Mike Arnapol on behalf of bassists everywhere, you can find his website here:

The MAS45 was designed by Mike in conjunction with BigE loudspeakers using their 'Manipulated Vortex Waveguide' technology (nope, I don't know what it means either...) - you can read about BigE here:

Essentially their designs mean you can get a lot of noise out of a small box.

Damn! Haven't looked at this forum for a day and I missed out on the crazy8. I just got a fearless f115 made, but I will be looking for a crazy8 for duo gigs in cafes etc... Well done whoever buys either of these cabs, great gear!
Edit: oh sorry, just realised that the crazy8 went in August!.....where was I then? What year is it? Who's the prime minister? (Actually don't answer, not worth it).

Rabbie, calm down dear! Yes, I sold the 8 a while ago and the 45 didn't move so I have sent abject apologies to harrybgoode to tell him I'm keeping it. I used it for an outdoor gig at the weekend and it's a killer. Only problem is although it's by no means heavy it's still a bit of a challenge for my ancient back. I've got a new Barefaced Ten coming any day now so, which is quite light. So I'll see how that goes and maybe put some cabs on the market again.
