Well the MarkBass Italian vs. Indonesian test is on! If anyone has a good video camera that will do bass sounds justice it may be good to record it for Basschat posterity.

I'm hoping to attend. I have a newish all-digital Markbass LMIII I could bring along for a comparison with an older or LMII model - to see if there really is a difference.

I've just put a couple of music-related books in the Recycling section for anyone attending the bash. Just message me and I'll reserve them and bring them along for you.

So, how many have we got coming then?

I will have to leave at 3-ish as I have to be in Axminster at 4, so if anyone would like to see the Multiamp in all its luvverly glory it'll need to be early on. Also, and rather disappointingly, I spoke with MSL yesterday and they still have not received their stock of the Nano 300 or the other new amp, the Ninja 1000 (the front panel even looks like an LM3 which has dropped some acid tabs!!). Hopefully sometime after 20th. As long as not needed elsewhere, given some notice I can usually borrow their demo kit anytime if anyone wants to see it...

"Its not just what you play but when, and what you leave out....." its either that, or I still just don't get it after 40 years of playing!!

Lakland, Fender, Markbass Multiamp (OMG its good!), Elixir (Simply the best if you don't use a pick. One day Elixir will see sense and make me an endorsee!!), VW Caddy Maxi

Hi all, to be honest I haven't been keeping count, but somewhere between 6-12 I hope, that will be enough to make it worthwhile.
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there and the markbass gear shootouts will be fun.

Jim.

Hi everyone, although I can't make it I've arranged with Stevie for the Basschat 12" speakers to be there. Thanks to GrahamT for taking them across.

I hope everyone attending the bash will have a listen to these cabs as critically as possible. The next step is to voice them (as they say) and we'd like your input on this. I'll have a Markbass LMIII connected, and will be inviting you to adjust the tone controls to get as close to the sound you'd like from the finished cab. I'm going to try to bring some measuring gear if I can.

I'd also like to point out that I'm selling an Eden 15+horn speaker cab, a 1,000W power amp, some 12" speaker chassis, an electronic crossover and some outboard equalisers on the For Sales boards and would be happy to deliver any of these to the bash tomorrow.

Those who can make would be well advised to bring a cable reel and "flat 4" as there are not many power sockets in the Skittle Alley. I'll bring some electric heaters too...

Great afternoon, got to play on some different stuff that I now want, and generally ruin the nice calm sense of not really wanting anything new!

Took some pics, and recorded some audio. The pics follow, in no particular order, and the audio will once I have dug it out later. The only thing we established for sure is that the indonesian MarkBass combo is better than the Italian one for weight and sound!
