wrist ache

Finally broke out the guitar for some writing this evening, and oh my goodness my wrists aren't thanking me. They're so used to bass that chords and picking feel so wrong. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but uncomfortable at the moment.

It's the guitar strings that get me. Nice fat bass strings (flats) are kind to the fingers, but skinny strings make them sore.

I use 11's on guitars, it's only the wound G String that is stopping me going heavier.

In fairness, I probably should have warmed up more before jumping into black metal riffs, but my left hand was just so uncomfortable making chord shapes, and keeping them static; definitely a bassist at heart

Have you tried the Ernie Ball "Not Even Slinky" 12s with a big fat plain G?
