Hi guys,

This beauty is up for sale, I purchased it from www.leftybassist.com while I was visiting the U.S last month. It's a great bass and has a rare finish for a lefty American Fender, but it's not for me. Geoffrey (the seller) had it on for 750$, but he had to charge me an extra 30$ as I had it shipped to a non-registered Paypal address. I then also had to pay 100$ to take it with me on my flight with Virgin Atlantic; total price paid was 880$. All the below photos were taken by the seller and I guarantee you that it is still in the exact condition as I had purchased it.

I would like to sell it for £550 and I prefer a local sale as I've never shipped a bass before. I live around central London and so that would be the pickup point, otherwise I would be willing to meet if it's not too far.

The below information in red was provided by the seller during the time of sale and so I've pasted it below to shed some more light. I strongly suggest you go through it as it has all the details.

Cheers guys!

Serial number says it a 2000 (Z0XXXXXX). Neck stamp date says it was made in September 2000 and inspected in October 2000. Neck pocket (body) stamp date is September 1999. Hey, it’s a Fender. I bought it from an Ebay seller in late 2010.

Beautiful one-piece ash body with red tort pickguard. Maple neck with dark rosewood fretboard. Neck is straight. Frets are good. All original with original G&G Fender hardshell case. 9.5 lbs. on my bathroom scale.

First, the not-so-good:

There are two “gash” marks on the underside (G string side) of the neck between the nut and the first fret. There’s also a shallow ding on the underside of the neck between the fourth and fifth fret. I believe the pictures show these accurately. I didn’t create them - the came with the bass I bought - but they don’t affect the playability. I don’t notice them at all when I’m playing.

Also, the thick poly finish on the body has some light surface scratches, mostly on the back; not noticeable unless you’re inspecting closely and nothing you wouldn’t expect from a 15 year old bass that’s been played.

The good:

It’s has a beautiful wide grain, the prettiest I’ve seen in these basses. A very fine piece of ash in a stunning finish Fender no longer offers to us lefties.

It also has the “preferred” (imo) pickup configuration with the J pickup route 1.625” from the P pickup route (Fender made another version of the HRP with the J pickup a bit farther from the bridge)."

Good luck with the sale - put SOLD in the title when done, and I'll close the thread. :)
