Usually I'm a round wound 45 - 105 guy on my basses - I have a n 'agricultural' right hand technique and wondered whether these would last longer than normal rounds, or would they just give me a different, more 'middly' sound? LayDownThaFunk Posted November 16, 2015 Share Posted November 16, 2015 Elixirs and other coated strings like that are a little less bright than non coated rounds but do have an extended life. My favourite coated strings are D'Addario EXPs because in my experience they last as long as Elixirs, cost less and feel less 'plasticy'.
