Which iMac audio interface?

Hello all,
Wondering if there is any advice out there for an iMac audio interface?

For rehearsal to tunes on the iMac and ideally to try out an online rehearsal through something like Skype.

I don't need anything complicated, literally just a jack input and the ability to talk online at the same time.

I am quite keen to get into the various rehearsal software tools mentioned on here too...

Any recommendations from current users?

I got a NI Kontact Audio 6 recently & it's superb (so far anyway).
If you're looking for something cheaper, there's the Presonus iOne or the Focusrite Scarlet Solo, which are both less than £70 & can be used with your iPad too (I was really tempted by the Presonus iTwo for this reason).
If you're wanting to use the thunderbolt on your iMac, have a look at the Zoom Tac-2. It was down at £99 last month.

Apogee One/Duet would be my top picks and One has a surprisingly nice mic built in. Some of the best AD/DA converters around so it just sounds fantastic :)... An older One can be had for around 100 quid on ebay (+/- for accessories), though if you want to take a line-in and use onboad mic at the same time, you'd need the newer one. The older can only do one at a time

Be careful with the older Duets, the driver support isn't as good. I had an original Duet and I got rid of it as it was constantly glitching with whichever OS was before Yosemite. I'm running Yosemite with a Roland DuoCapture now which cost me £100 new, and it's brilliant, and rock solid too!

Focusrite Scarlet stuff is really good and so is the Apogee, I love my Duet. As said above though, get one of the newer ones, I just upgraded to the new OS and my old Apogee is having some minor issues.

Both are great and pop up used quite a lot.
