Anyone know anything?

Edit: Seems I've answered my own question.... https://youtu.be/Jo1SMTkXmDQ

Edit 2: 2 footswitches are On/Off and Boost (level of boost adjustable by internal trim pot). 2nd toggle switch is for phase inversion. Drive chip is socketed so you can change it out. Stupid idea for the hamfisted among us....

More than surprised that they didn't incorporate a high pass filter on the drive channel like Billy does in his own setup...

Can't help but think that the phase switch is a waste of panel space. Surely an internal switch could have been used for that and added a further feature to the front panel. Don't want to harp on about it, but a switchable high pass filter for the drive channel perhaps?! The ability to keep the clean channel and compression active and defeat the drive channel would have been useful too... Both would have reflected how Billy Sheehan actually uses his original signature drive pedal...

He also used two, with external comps too.

Cool that this has an easily switch-able drive chip though for experimenting! Billy leaked these to us on Facebook after someone spotted something about it. Will be interested to hear it. Definitely agree with the above inclusions, or lack thereof...

Aside from the product overview, I'd like to thank Billy for making the endorsement thing clear that I see SOOOOOO many people getting wrong. Who endorses who..

He's been around long enough to have seen it from both sides I would think. He speaks a lot of sense!

I met him at a signing before a clinic in Manchester in '95 and he doesn't seem to have aged a day!

Billy Sheehan comes across really well when it comes to presenting his gear or showing off techniques.

I bought the original Billy Sheehan EBS pedal. It is a nice bit of kit but I really didn't take to the voicing of the drive and felt that even with the blending option the drive resulted in a bit of low end loss. This isn't me having a go at either Billy Sheehan or EBS, as obviously the pedal was designed with meeting Billy's approval not mine! I think that the 'phase invert' switch on the new model is probably a reaction to my issues though.

The loop functions on the Billy Sheehan pedal are fun, but I found them a bit limiting in the sense that the loops only worked when the pedal was on with the drive engaged. I also would have preferred a two band stacked EQ like the Boss ODB3 rather than the 'tone' knob. I don't think that the features on the new Billy Sheehan model will tempt me to shell out more money, but if EBS ever want to release a signature drive for me I am just a phone call away...

In the end I have gone back to my unblendable and barely working Aguilar Agro pedal for my 'bit of grit' needs.

I read a few posts and exchanged a few messages with other users who had commented that the with the pedal on, the clean and distortion channels are actually out of phase with each other and this was the cause for the low end loss being felt.

As some of you will know Billy uses a stereo rig setup with all of his low end coming from a separate neck pickup on his bass routed to one amp, and the high end coming from the split P-Pickup, routed to a different amp. He wouldn't notice any low end loss because there's no low end on the signal which is routed through the sig pedals in his rig....

FWIW I agree that EBS probably knew this (I'm not having a go at EBS or BS either, like you said, it was designed with BS and his setup specifically in mind) and this phase 'invert' switch is actually putting the clean and dirty channels back in phase with each other. The same result can also be achieved by putting another pedal which flips the phase into the distortion loop ( I used a £20 EHX LPB-1).

Know how you feel, I got mine on Friday, but have not yet had even 1 minute spare to plug the bugger in. Probably wont until maybe Thursday! I've got the guys on the Attitude Facebook page nagging for a review, and I really want to hear it too, and how it compares to the original which I have as well. Perhaps you'll save me trouble and get a review up first! ;)

There's been a bit of a situation with these - on some of the pedals, there is a volume issue on the clean channel - you have to max out the volume of the clean channel to achieve unity gain. EBS have identified the issue as:-

Do you need to crank up the Clean level all the way to achieve unity gain?

We have discovered a misaligned factory calibration with some of the Billy Sheehan Drive Deluxe pedals that has been shipped out so far.
The fault is recognized by the fact that you need to crank up the Clean level almost all the way to achieve unity gain when the pedal is engaged.
If you experience this issue with your pedal and want it properly aligned, please contact us at"][email protected] for further assistance. It is covered by warranty.
My Pedal definitely has the issue and I contacted EBS who are doing the fix themselves if you're in Sweden, but as I'm not, they pointed me at Soundtech in the UK, who I think are the distributors. I emailed them but have had no reply as yet, sigh..
Billy Sheehan has chimed in on this on the Yamaha Attitude Facebook page and reckons the fix can be done DIY, and is going to share how to do it. If he does post the fix, then depending on the difficulty I'll either have a go myself, or use a local guy I've used before who knows his stuff.....

A back-from-the-dead bump for this thread, saying as I ordered one of these this evening.

I received a Darkglass B3K last month from a very kind friend in the states who shipped it to me. Since then, I have been enjoying having some overdrive in my life.

Whilst at work last night I saw that Bass Direct had a used EBS Billy Sheehan standard for sale. It wasn't a pedal I had heard of before but being a big fan of Billy's brilliant playing and thunderous tone, I decided I had to have one. I ordered it there and then, and that was that, until I woke up this afternoon to a PayPal refund an email from Marcus at Bass Direct telling me the pedal had sold.

Luckily, Andertons had one of the deluxe models in stock for not much mire money, and with a couple of useful improvements over the standard pedal it seems this will be a sound buy. My brother has an Attitude Ltd II that I'm looking forward to hearing running with this new pedal.
