Fender vintage threaded saddles - how to stop them wearing out!?...

So, my AVRI 62 Jazz Bass has the vintage threaded saddles on it (these, if you're not familiar with what I mean!).

The problem is that I'm quite a heavy right-hand player, and I keep wearing out the threads on the E String saddle, which means the string doesn't stay in place and ends up wobbling about between the threads...I've been through five saddles now (official Fender ones which are actually ridiculously expensive for what they are), and this keeps happening!

Rather than change my technique, is anyone aware of a way around this, or if there is some method of strengthening the threads on the saddle so they don't wear out quite as easily?

I (and my wallet) would appreciate any advice that anyone can give!

Thanks,
Al
